Helen Hitchens is an artist of no abode that is fixed.  From this creative practice that exists in in-between-ness, comes The Woman With The Power Of Birds, an illustrated fairy tale with themes of nomadic encounters. Women are expected to need a home and in this inversion of the patriarchal Western conditioning that fetishizes the ownership of property, a female artist draws and writes her experience of flying repeatedly between countries in a migratory act of defiance.  Visitors she has encountered on her journey and in galleries are drawn and photographed.  The drawings and photographs are available for sale in a dark zine of the same name with themes of magic and shape-shifting.
