Philosophy

RuptureXIBIT questions traditional art world hierarchies by emphasizing process over product, prioritizing creativity and artistic exploration. It encourages artists to challenge conventions, work beyond their comfort zones, and redefine artistic value beyond social media validation.

Team
Kate Howe (they/them), an American artist based in London and Leeds, is the Founder and Director of RuptureXIBIT. Their research-based practice explores themes of longing, loss, power, and control, shaping their approach to fostering artistic experimentation within the studio and gallery.

Sally Minns (she/her), a London-based artist and Gallery Director, is Kate’s business partner and Artist in Residency. She expands opportunities for emerging artists by providing affordable exhibition spaces, mentoring, and residencies while strengthening RuptureXIBIT’s community ties and continuing her own creative practice.
